ANNOUNCES SEVEN EVENTS FOR JANUARY/FEBRUARY, 2017  

(1) Sponsoring unit: The Committee on Military History

Presents: “ The Old Eighth Regiment, I.N.G. – Black Participation in World War One”

 

When: Saturday afternoon, January 14, 2017; 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Where: Chicago Bee Library, 3649 South State (parking available in adjacent closed lot)

 

(2) Sponsoring unit: The Charles V. and Dona Hamilton Institute for Policy and Leadership

Presents “A Panel Analysis of the November, 2016 Election: Michael Dawson (University of Chicago); Diana Pinderhughes (Notre Dame University); Valerie Johnson (DePaul University); Cristina Greer (Columbia University); Robert T. Starks (Northeastern Illinois University)

(4) Sponsoring unit: Committee on the African American Mindset in Early Black Chicago

Presents “Popular Thinking and Critical Thought, 1833-1945” – a group discussion

 

When:  Saturday morning, February 11, 2017; 10:00 a.m. -– 12:00 noon

Where: George Cleveland Hall Library, 4801 South Michigan Avenue

Presents: “Great Youth Organizations on The Old West Side: Midwest Boys Club; Newberry Center; Old Town Boys Club; BBR; ABC; Boys General Assembly; the Major Adams’ Band, Defender Band; etc.”
